Desk and corrections

Write to the desk

The address on this page reaches the editorial desk that publishes Platform Facts Kenya. Use it for figures that look wrong, sources that have moved, questions about how a reading is taken, and corrections.

What the desk is and what it is not

Platform Facts Kenya is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. The site publishes one measurement: rows taken from named public sources and republished with the date and the hour they were read. Rows are what the CMA published, with its own dates. A caution is the Authority's statement, not a court finding. The desk's work is to record what a source said at a particular moment, not to interpret it as advice.

The desk does not give personal investment advice, does not help with a broker's account, and does not offer tips. A reader who wants to know what a figure means for their own money should ask a licensed adviser. The desk cannot see a reader's account, cannot act on a reader's behalf, and cannot tell a broker what to do. Its only role is to keep the published record accurate and to say plainly when a figure is corrected.

What is worth writing about

Write when a figure looks wrong. The desk rechecks the source and corrects the row if the source does not support the number. Write when a source has moved or closed, because the link under a table may no longer work. Write when a question arises about how a measurement is taken: which page was read, at what hour, and what the source's own date says. These questions help the desk keep the record precise.

Write when the site's own text is unclear. The desk rewrites sentences that mislead, without changing the measurement. Write when a reader notices that a row is missing or that a caution is not shown. The desk adds rows only when a public source supports them. A reader's memory is not enough, but a reader's pointer to a public page is exactly what the desk needs.

What happens to a correction

A correction is dated. The desk changes the row, adds the date of the change, and keeps the old figure visible with a note. The note says what changed and when. The desk does not silently replace a number, because a reader who saw the old figure should be able to see that it was corrected. The source link stays, so the reader can check the publisher's own page.

Corrections are the reason the contact address exists. The desk answers every message that points to a specific row, a specific source, or a specific sentence. A message that says only "this is wrong" without a row or a source may not be enough, but the desk will ask for the missing detail. A reader who sends the source's own page makes the correction fast.

What this desk cannot answer

The desk cannot answer questions about a reader's own account, because it has no access and no authority. A reader who cannot log in, cannot withdraw, or cannot reach a broker should write to the broker. The desk cannot tell a reader whether to open an account, fund it, or close it. Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. The rows describe what the regulator has published, not what a reader should do.

The desk cannot answer questions about a broker's actions, because the broker is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is stated plainly, and it does not change what the desk can or cannot answer.
