How this site's records are produced

This site shows what the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya publishes: its public caution against investment scams, and its list of licensees. Both are read from the Authority's website, and each table prints the date of the reading it was built from. The tables record what the source published, not a finding of this site.

The two CMA records: cautions and licensees

The caution table is read from the press release "Public caution against investment scams" on the website of the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya, dated 11 September 2026, which names fifteen entities. Each row shows one name as the release wrote it, the date of the release, the kind of row, and a link to the release. A caution is a public statement by the regulator; it is not a court finding.

The licensee table is read from the Authority's published list of licensees. Each row shows the name exactly as the source wrote it, the licence number, the licence category, and a link to the list. The list gives no date per licence. A licence in one category does not authorise other activities; the category is shown with the name.

How the table handles a notice with no entity name

The caution table lists only the names a release prints. A notice that names no entity is not turned into a row, the table does not invent a name to fill a blank, and it does not treat an unnamed notice as if it named the platform a reader is checking. A reader who sees a notice without an entity should read the full text on the CMA website.

The reading does not interpret the content of a caution beyond what the source published. It does not shorten a name, translate it, or match it to a brand on social media. If the source wrote a name in full, the table shows that name in full.

Why a licensee list is a snapshot

The licensee list is a snapshot taken at the time of the reading, whose date is printed under the table. The Authority can add or remove names at any time, and a row in the table reflects what the source published on the day it was read. A reader should check the CMA website directly before acting.

A licence is a permission for named activities, not a general endorsement. The category shown with each name tells the reader what the entity is licensed to do. An entity licensed as an investment adviser is not thereby licensed as a broker, and the table shows that distinction.

What the site does not conclude about names not found

A name not found in the licensee list is not shown by that fact to be unlawful. The site does not rate or rank any entity, and it does not conclude that a name absent from the list is a scam or a fraud. The absence of a name means only that the name did not appear on the list at the time of the read.

The same applies to the caution table. A name not found there means only that no caution with that exact name was published at the time of the read. It does not mean the entity is licensed, safe, or appropriate for any reader. No firm is rated or ranked.
